We are seeking a volunteer to become our volunteer Program Manager! This role oversees and coordinates different related services KAEF offers to ensure they benefit one another and meet business goals. The main duties include organizing various programs and activities to improve KAEF efficiencies, building long-term goals for KAEF projects, and developing program and project budgets.
Program Managers are responsible for overseeing the development of programs that support our organization’s main objectives.
Virtual or On-Site
Major Objective: A professional who is responsible for researching, planning, and implementing KAEF’s programs. Must initiate goals based on the strategic objectives of KAEF’s and allocate resources necessary to achieve those plans from start to finish including identifying processes, deadlines, etc.
To Responsibilities:
Interview train and be a motivating mentor to staff.
Lead large group discussions to answer questions and remedy complaints.
Create and nurture effective communication within the organization.
Build a strong team through open communication and by collaborating on decision-making responsibilities.
Initiate and set goals for programs based on the organization’s strategic objectives.
Plan programs from start to finish, including identifying processes, deadlines and milestones.
Develop and approve operations and budgets
Initiating and setting goals for programs according to the strategic objectives of the organization.
Planning the programs from start to completion involving deadlines, milestones and processes
Regularly checks and responds to all incoming emails, calls, texts, and Slack messages within 72 hours (except during time off or extenuating circumstances).
Urgent matters are addressed immediately, generally within 24 hours.
Qualifications:
18 years of age or older
Excellent communication, organization, and clerical skills
Must be a team player
Proven experience as program director or other managerial position
Thorough understanding of project/program management techniques and methods
Excellent knowledge of performance evaluation techniques and key metrics
Outstanding knowledge of data analysis, reporting and budgeting
Working knowledge of MS office and program management software (e.g. Basecamp, MS Project etc.)
A business acumen with a strategic ability
Excellent organizational and leadership skills
An analytical mindset with great problem-solving abilities
Animal experience (preferred)
Experience managing inventory (preferred)
Volunteer experience with KAEF (preferred)
Training:
● General Volunteer Orientation
Time and Place: Virtual and on-site work at the KAEF property. Flexible schedule, ensuring all role needs are met.
Commitment:
Overall time commitment: Minimum of 6 months
3-4 hours per month
