We are seeking volunteers to become our Animal Interaction Tour guide for visitors! This role is responsible for leading Animal Interaction Tours. Leaders will welcome guests, educate about the background and mission of KAEF, and introduce each of the animals who call the KAEF their home.
Animal Interaction Tour Guide Application
Responsibilities:
1. Leads tours.
2. Regularly checks and responds to all incoming emails, calls, texts, and Slack messages within 72 hours (except during time off or extenuating circumstances). Urgent matters are addressed immediately, generally within 24 hours.
3. Actively communicates to supervisor recommendations and suggestions to improve visitor days.

● Executive Directors and Leadership
Qualifications:
● 18 years of age or older
● Minimum high school education or equivalent (e.g., GED)
● Basic computer competency (e.g., Excel, Word, etc.)
● Excellent communication, organization, and cleaning skills
● Must be a team player and committed to team success
● Knows how to deal with confidential matters appropriately
● Excellent time management, planning and organizational skills
● Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks with sensitive deadlines
● Detail-oriented and results-driven
● Proven verbal and written communication skills
● Volunteer experience with KAEF (preferred)

● General Volunteer Orientation
● Animal Safety Training
● Public Relations

● Train with current Visitor Day Leader
Time and Place: Virtual work with a flexible schedule.
Commitment:
Overall time commitment: Minimum of 6 months
Weekly time commitment of 2.5 hours per tour.
Tours are offered M-S 9-11:30am & 3-5:30pm. Choose your date & time you are comfortable to commit.
All scheduling conflicts must be appropriately communicated with the Volunteer Coordinator:
