Animal Rescue/Adoption Program Manager (virtual and on-site)

Description
We are seeking a volunteer to become our Animal Rescue Program Manager! This volunteer’s role will facilitate animal rescue from community members, management of the partnership with Kauai Humane Society, Petco & DNLR, and build a collaborative and professional animal rescue program that aligns with KAEF’s values.
Requirements
Responsibilities:
1. Share resources with community members that align with KAEF’s mission, Kauai Humane Society, Petco, DNLR and more.
2. Maintain a collaborative, helpful, and supportive animal rescue/adoption program culture.
3. Facilitates resources to community members through a variety means of communication.
4. Create and manage creative funding opportunities to support animal emergencies.
5. Represents KAEF’s mission and values, communicating to community members with compassion, respect, and professionalism.
6. Taking pictures/video’s and creating content stories about new rescue & adoptions.
7. Taking in animals from KHS and/or individuals.
8. Screening potential adoptees.
9. Setting up appointments for rescue intakes, managing appropriate paperwork.
10.Setting up appointments for adoptions, managing appropriate paperwork.
11. Regularly checks and responds to all incoming emails, calls, texts, and Slack messages within 72 hours (except during time off or extenuating circumstances). Urgent matters are addressed immediately, generally within 24 hours.
Qualifications:
● 18 years of age or older
● Minimum high school education or equivalent (e.g., GED)
● Basic computer competency (e.g., Excel, Word, etc.)
● Excellent communication and organizational skills
● Must be a team player
● Social media competency (1-2 years required)
● Volunteer experience with KAEF (minimum 6 months preferred)
Training:
● General Volunteer Orientation
● Animal Safety Training
● Social Media
Training Time and Place: Virtual and on-site work at the KAEF property. Primarily virtual with some on-site work. Flexible schedule, ensuring all role needs are met.
Commitment:
● Overall time commitment: 2-5 hours per week
○ All scheduling conflicts must be appropriately communicated with the Director of Public Relations. - For scheduling conflicts 1 week or more away, email info@kauaianimaleducationcenter..org - For scheduling conflicts in less than 1 week or within 24 hours, text the Director of Public Relations.
Supervision: Direct supervision by Director of Public Relations and Director of Animal Care; indirect supervision by Executive Director and Board Directors.
