Landscaping (on-site)

Kauai Animal Education Farm

Description

We are seeking a volunteer to help with landscaping duties. 

 To maintain the grounds not utilized by the animals. Including mowing, trimming, pruning, raking, and weeding. Waters plants and adds mulch as needed. Installs sprinkler & watering systems. Removes leaves, branches & trees as needed.

Landscaping Application

Responsibilities: 

1. Weekly mowing

2. Weekly weedeating 

3. Weekly watering 

4. Weekly weeding

 5. Weekly tree trimming 

6. Keep space clean, dry, decluttered, & pest free 

7. Equipment maintenance

Qualifications: 

  • 18 years of age or older, unless accompanied by an adult 18 years of age or older 

  • Excellent communication and organizational skills 

  • Equipment/ tool use & repair knowledge

  • Must be a team player

  • Self directed

  • Creative

  • Attention to detail 

  • Soil and irrigation management (prefered)

  • Tree and bush work (prefered)

 

Training

● On-the-job training with current manage

Time and Place: On-site at the KAEF property.

Requirements/Commitment: 

● Overall time commitment: Minimum of 6 months 

● Approximately 6-8 hours work a week

Supervision: Direct supervision by Volunteer Coordinator; indirect supervision by KAEF Executive Director.
