We are seeking someone to help coordinate our volunteer services.

Major Objective: Responsible for planning, leading, overseeing and coordinating the volunteer program. Will engage members of the community in the KAEF’s mission, expose members of the community to the perspective of seeing farmed animals as individuals, and to assist in the ongoing building projects of the sanctuary. The Volunteer Manager will recruit, train, evaluate, maintain and recognize a vital volunteer program to include docents, interns, individual and group volunteers to supplement staff resources. The Volunteer Manager will also oversee Community Engagement.
Requirements
Responsibilities:

Sourcing suitably qualified and earnest Volunteers.

Devising goal-oriented work schedules.

Assigning routine and ad hoc responsibilities to Volunteers.

Issuing sound instruction and appropriate mentorship.

Reviewing Volunteers' performance at scheduled intervals.

Ensuring compliance with Volunteer-specific and company-wide guidelines.

Promoting budgetary compliance to preserve our operations

Regularly check and respond to all incoming accounting emails, calls, texts, and Slack messages within 72 hours (except during time off or extenuating circumstances). Urgent matters are addressed immediately, generally within 24 hours.
Collaborates With:
● Volunteer Day Manager, and KAEF Directors and Leadership
Qualifications:
● 18 years of age or older
● Minimum high school education or equivalent (e.g., GED)
● Basic computer competency (e.g., Excel, Word, etc.)
● Excellent Leadership Skills
● Outgoing and welcoming demeanor
● Must show up for all Volunteer Days they are scheduled to run, and if something comes up, must notify the manager 24 hours in advance.
● Flexibility, adaptability
● Must be a team player
●Volunteer experience with KAEF (preferred)
Training:
● General Volunteer Orientation
● Animal Safety Orientation (if planning to come on-site to record content)
● Public Relations Training

Time and Place: On-site work at KAEF
Commitment:
● Overall time commitment: 3-4 hours per month
Supervision: Direct supervision by Volunteer Day Manager, indirect supervision by Executive Director.
