Punchbowl Central Distribution Volunteer Position

PURPOSE:

• To assist in the delivery of supplies and equipment to the nursing floors in a timely manner.
• To assist in the filing of documents within the department.
• To assist with other tasks as needed.

DUTIES

• Perform duties in a courteous, friendly manner that fosters superior customer service.
• Ability to effectively communicate in English both orally and in writing; and understand verbal and written communications.
• Information regarding personal affairs of patients and fellow employees is confidential. 
• Volunteers must have a clear understanding of patients rights.
• Observe all safety and health regulations and work in accordance with safe work procedures and policies of the medical center.  Report unsafe acts/conditions and injuries to supervisor promptly.

Volunteers are required to attend training/orientation from the Volunteer Office.  Orientation to the Central Distribution is done by a staff member.  The area is also responsible for completing a Department Orientation Form to be placed in the volunteer’s file located in Volunteer Services.  Regulation volunteer uniform and QMC name tag. Sign in/out through the Volunteer Services office.
