Description

Junior Achievement of Hawaiʻi is looking for four volunteers to teach this fall at Maʻemaʻe Elementary School in Honolulu. You’ll lead hands-on activities that help students learn how people earn, spend, and save money and how different jobs support their community.

Time commitment: You’ll teach five 45-minute sessions in your assigned classroom, for a total of 3 hours and 45 minutes of classroom time. You’ll work directly with the teacher to choose dates and times that fit your availability and the classroom schedule, between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m. on school days. The sessions can be spread out over several weeks or scheduled closer together. They don’t have to be on consecutive days.

What we provide: Junior Achievement provides volunteer training, step-by-step lesson plans, and all classroom materials. No teaching experience is required. You’re welcome to share examples from your own work or everyday life to help students connect with the lessons.

Interested? Sign up and let us know your general availability this fall. We’ll follow up with the available classroom assignments and help you get started.
