Description
Overview
The Epilepsy Foundation of Hawaiʻi (EFH) serves more than 15,000 people statewide, including 2,000 keiki living with epilepsy. Seizures are one of the top three medical emergencies in schools, making our work especially critical for children and families across Hawaiʻi. Through our Hawaiʻi HelpLine, we provide compassionate, real-time support for individuals and caregivers navigating epilepsy—ensuring no call for help goes unanswered. Our Hawaiʻi Team covers after-hours East Coast shifts (9 AM – 2 PM HST), bridging the gap so people nationwide receive help when they need it most.
What You’ll Do

Answer inbound HelpLine calls through our secure ZoiPer phone system.

Provide compassionate listening, basic information, and resources to callers.

Direct individuals to appropriate referrals for medical, legal, and community support.

Document calls in iCarol (online call management system).
Shift Details
-
Shifts: Once a week, 5 hours (average 8 calls per shift).

Flexibility: Volunteers may split shifts with peers.

Training: All volunteers complete online training and receive ongoing support.

Comfortable using technology and learning new systems.
Requirements

All equipment will be provided, including a computer, headset, and extra screen.

Work is fully remote (work from home).

Must have a stable internet connection.

After 150 of hours (3 hours a day preferred) volunteers will receive certification upon completion.
- Training will be provided.
