Erosion Control Project

Mālama Pūpūkea Waimea

Description

Erosion Control Project: Planting, Fencing & Signage 🌱

Join Mālama Pūpūkea-Waimea for a hands-on community workday at Kapoʻo / Pūpūkea Beach Park to help build and support our coastal restoration area!

Volunteers will help with native Hawaiian coastal plantings, constructing a protective bamboo perimeter fence, and installing educational signage. These restoration features work together to help protect newly planted areas while creating an opportunity to share the importance of caring for our coastal resources with the community.

No previous experience is necessary! This is a hands-on workday where you’ll work alongside MPW staff, volunteers, and community members to help put the next phase of the project into place. Come ready to get involved, learn something new, and mālama ʻāina. 🌊🌿

Date: Saturday, October 3, 2026
Time: 7:30 AM–11:30 AM
Location: Kapoʻo / Pūpūkea Beach Park

Whether you’re helping plant, build fencing, install signage, or lend a hand wherever needed, every contribution helps move this restoration project forward. Mahalo for helping us mālama Kapoʻo!
