Outreach & Education Volunteer
Whale Trust
Description
Support Whale Trust’s community outreach efforts by engaging with the public at events across the island and at the Maui Ocean Center. Volunteers in this role serve as ambassadors for Whale Trust, helping to share information about whales, marine conservation, and the organization’s work. Responsibilities include setting up and breaking down outreach tables, welcoming and interacting with guests, assisting with hands-on activities, and providing accurate, engaging information about whales and Whale Trust programs. All volunteers will receive training on Whale Trust and current whale science to ensure they feel confident and prepared. Ongoing support and updated resources will be provided.
Requirements
- Comfortable speaking with the public and presenting to small groups
- Ability to travel to outreach locations around Maui
- Must complete training prior to the first outreach event
- Able to lift up to 30 lbs
