Description
Want to support high school students tackle important global issues? The Pacific & Asian Affairs Council (PAAC) will hold the Global Vision Summit (GVS) 2026, an immersive, one-day event that puts high school students at the center of one of the most important conversations of our time. We are seeking Facilitators and Volunteers to support this all-day event.
This year’s theme, “Health without Borders,” explores how global health crises can impact communities, economies, and societies across borders. From questions of disease prevention and containment to health equity and access to lifesaving resources, this summit will challenge students to think critically about how countries and communities can work together to respond to crises while balancing competing needs and priorities. 🌎🩺🤝
PAAC is seeking TWO Roles for this Event - please read the descriptions below carefully. Mahalo for your interest!
1. GLOBAL VISION SUMMIT — FACILITATORS
PAAC is seeking facilitators to support our upcoming Global Vision Summit (GVS) from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM HST on Saturday, December 5, 2026, at Windward Community College Hale Akoakoa.
This year's theme, Health Without Borders, explores how global health crises can impact communities, economies, and societies across borders. From disease prevention and containment to health equity and access to lifesaving resources, students will think critically about how countries and communities can work together to respond to crises while balancing competing needs and priorities.
Facilitators play a key role in guiding student stakeholder groups through multiple rounds of negotiation. They help students think critically and collaboratively while working toward actionable, balanced solutions to complex challenges.
Facilitators can expect to:
-
Prompt discussion and help groups stay on task.
-
Ensure all students have opportunities to participate.
-
Provide clarity and context as students navigate the simulation.
-
Guide students toward developing their own ideas and conclusions, rather than contributing personal opinions.
We are looking for facilitators who:
-
Have experience working with high school students in academic or community settings.
-
Have expertise or professional knowledge in topics featured in this year's GVS.
-
Are 18 years of age or older.
We give priority to individuals with both high school student experience and relevant topic expertise, but we encourage everyone interested to apply regardless of their background in these areas!
Facilitators receive a $100 honorarium and complimentary lunch in appreciation of their support.
To express your interest, please complete the GVS Facilitator Intent Form by November 1, 2026 at 11:59 PM HST. Applicants will be notified by Friday, November 6, 2026, and selected facilitators must confirm their participation by Sunday, November 8, 2026 at 11:59 PM HST.
2. GLOBAL VISION SUMMIT — VOLUNTEERS
We are also seeking volunteers to help support GVS 2026 on Saturday, December 5th 2026.
Volunteers will help with event operations and student support while gaining firsthand experience with PAAC's Global Vision Summit and its mission. Volunteers will receive a complimentary lunch, and upon request, PAAC can provide documentation confirming volunteer service for school service hours, organizational requirements, or other service credit.
No prior experience is required, and volunteers do not need to have expertise in global health or international affairs, although we will first consider those who do have a background in these areas.
To sign up as a GVS volunteer, visit our 2026 GVS website to learn more info, and simply register as a volunteer using the GVS Registration Form. Please complete the GVS Registration Form by November 1, 2026 at 11:59 PM HST to volunteer with us.
