Volunteer Workday at the Kalaeloa Heritage Park

Come help care for and preserve the ancient Hawaiian cultural landscape in the 'Ewa moku at this little known historical site inside Kalaeloa, on the way to White Plains Beach. We will be watering native plants, removing invasive species, and clearing/cutting kiawe & other brush. Our monthly community workday is on the last Saturday of every month from 09:00 to noon. Please wear heavy soled shoes if possible (i.e., NO slippers!). The landscape is a mostly coral mixed with soil. The ground can be rocky and there may be thorns under/around the kiawe trees. Sunscreen and a hat are recommended. The climate is hot and dry so be sure to keep yourself hydrated. Please fill out a liability waiver form upon arrival; this is a requirement of the landowner, the Hawaii Community Development Authority (HCDA).
