Kaiaulu Initiatives

Kaiāulu Initiatives is a Lāhaina-based nonprofit founded in the wake of the August 2023 wildfire to help our community heal and rebuild. We steward a 560-acre parcel in the ahupuaʻa of Wahikuli, guided by Hawaiian cultural values and a deep commitment to caring for the ʻāina.

Join us for our community workdays, where volunteers plant native species, water and maintain young plants, and help restore the health of the land. Our workdays are about more than the physical mahiʻai. Rooted in Hawaiian cultural practice, we offer a chance to reconnect with the ʻāina in a way that nourishes the mind and spirit. There is real healing in working the soil together, and every hand makes a difference in bringing this place back to life.
