ʻĀina Hoʻōla Initiative is a grassroots nonprofit based in Hilo, Hawaiʻi, dedicated to restoring and conserving loko iʻa (Native Hawaiian fishponds) and wetlands. Through hands-on stewardship, education, and community engagement, we work to cultivate thriving, balanced ecosystem that honor cultural heritage and support native biodiversity. Volunteers are central to our mission as we come together to heal the ʻāina (land) and strengthen peopleʻs connection to it.
