MHM + MISC Coqui Control Nights
Mālama Hāmākua Maui
Description
Coqui Control Night with MHM + MISC
Last Tuesdays | 5:30–7:30 PM (time adjusts seasonally)
Join Mālama Hāmākua Maui and the Maui Invasive Species Committee for a unique evening work session focused on coqui frog control at Hāmākualoa Kulaiwi in Haʻikū.
Held on the last Tuesday of every month, this is a hands-on opportunity to work alongside trained MISC staff, learn how coqui impact our native ecosystems, and practice safe and effective control methods. Participants will walk into active habitat areas at dusk, hear the calls firsthand, and assist with treatment in identified zones.
This is the only opportunity of its kind where the public can work directly alongside MISC in the field.
All tools, materials, and safety guidance are provided. Please wear closed-toe shoes, bring a flashlight or headlamp if you have one, and dress for outdoor evening conditions.
Whether you’re curious to learn, want to take action in your own neighborhood, or simply want to support native ecosystem restoration, this is a meaningful way to step in and help.
Space may be limited, so RSVP is encouraged.
