Aloha Friends and Volunteers! 💚
Please come and join us for a fun day tabling with the UH athletes 🏈 for our annual Get in the Game Event from 9-3 pm on Monday May 4th. The event will take place in the campus center courtyard under the big white tent.
If you can only stay part of the time that is OKAY! The More hands on deck the better!
NMDP is the national stem cell/bone marrow program. We match up volunteer blood donors with patients who have blood cancers/diseases. Get In The Game has helped to recruit 112,000 people to the registry with over 700 people going on to match and donating to a patient in-need. To date the University of Hawai'i has help us add over 1,700 donors to the registry and contributed to saving 4 lives! The student athletes have played a large roll in these outcomes.
Every year through out the nation NMPD (Formerly Be The Match) hosts a Get in the Game event in which we involve the student athletes to be essentially our hype squad to get people engaged in joining our registry Having a Get in the Game event is a powerful end to the year together - a way for the team to collaborate on something extremely impactfull, saving lives, and to walk away knowing they've made a difference for patients with blood cancers and other blood disorders.
GO BOWS! 🌈
