The 'alae 'ula (Hawaiian Common Gallinule) is an endangered waterbird that is unique to Hawaii. There are only around 700 left.

Parking is available inside the chain link gate directly next to 268 Hāmākua Drive, Kailua.
Wear covered shoes and sun protection. Long pants and sleeves recommended. Bring a water bottle. We have the rest!
All ages welcome. Children 14 and under need to be accompanied by an adult. Children under 18 need parent to sign waiver for them.
