Kānewai Fishpond Community Workday
Maunalua Fishpond Heritage Center
Description
At Maunalua Fishpond Heritage Center, we’re restoring the heartbeat of our ʻāina—reviving Native Hawaiian fishponds and reconnecting our community to ancestral practices. Follow us on YouTube, Instagram, and Facebook to witness restoration in action, learn the moʻolelo of Maunalua, and be part of a movement that honors the past to nourish our future. Your support helps these storied waters thrive once again—join our journey and help us bring life back to the loko iʻa!
Requirements
Please come ready to get dirty, be in the sun, and help us work outside to care for Kānewai fishpond!
Bring your own water, we provide lunch.
There are no bathrooms on site, so please make sure to go ahead of time.
We do not have onsite parking, so we ask that everyone respectfully parks from Kuliʻouʻou Beach Park to Summer Street, and walk along Paeʻoki, to Kalanianaole Hwy to our location. Look for the wall of blue and purple waves with silver mullet fish painted and a big gate.
