Event
Mālama the native forest at Hāmākua Marsh
Healthy Climate Communities
Description
Join us in caring for our native, community forest on the watershed of Hāmākua Marsh Wildlife Sanctuary. We have been planting and caring for a variety of native trees and plants, including native and endangered plants, since 2015. When you visit, you will have an opportunity to enjoy a bird walk and learn about the native and endangered wetland birds living at Hāmākua. We have regular volunteers as well as many who are able to visit just once. The restoration work often involves removing invasive species that are growing back in our native forest. It is a beautiful place and we love it when people come to experience it.
We can also schedule volunteer events for groups of 8 or more. Email: info@healthyclimatecommunities.org
