oin us on the last Saturday of every month from 9:00–11:30 AM for our community Kōkua Day at Hāmākualoa Kulaiwi in Haʻikū. These mornings are all about getting outside, getting a little dirty, and giving back to the ʻāina together.
Each workday includes hands-on mālama ʻāina in the form of trash pick-ups, native plant maintenance, watering and mulching, sign creation, light trail clearing, and other stewardship projects based on what the land needs that month. No experience is necessary — we’ll guide you.
We provide all tools, gloves, and light refreshments. Just wear closed-toe shoes, sun protection, and bring a refillable water bottle.
This is a space for neighbors to meet neighbors, families to work side-by-side, and for all of us to take part in restoring a place that belongs to the whole community. Come for the work, stay for the connection.
Directions:
From Hana Highway, turn onto Hahana Road. Shortly after turning in, take the left-hand fork in the road. Continue straight, even after the paved road ends.
You may see a sign that says “4x4 vehicles required” — please disregard that. Our entrance is before that becomes necessary.
Look for Mālama Hāmākua Maui signs on your right-hand side and enter there.
Please drive slowly and respectfully through the neighborhood.
If you need help finding us the morning of the workday, call or text 808-385-3176.
